Graphing Project
In this assignment, students were asked to create an image of themselves by using various kinds of equations. Some of these equations include: conic functions; trigonometric functions, parabolas, and even simple line equations
The main purpose of this assignment was to challenge students to use math in a situation where math is usually not required. For example, when there was an area in the image that didn't simply have a line or a circular curve, I learned that there were other, more complex lines that could be used instead.
In conclusion, I felt that I learned a lot about how math really is used in everyday life but has been simplified throughout the years. Throughout the project, I thought about how there are programs that already have the math implemented in them to make things like drawing easier.
